I tried it with all caps too just in case motosnoop was freaking out over lower case, same result.

I ran a vin decoder on it and it said it was a 91 GMC 4x4 4.3L V6 but seemed to be missing information so I’m not so sure I trust that decoder.

Edit: used a decoder sheet manually and it shows reg cab 5.7L 4x4 GMC 1500

Yeah that’s exactly what it is. Just spent the cash and ran the Carfax myself, it still seems shady. Ad says 150k miles, Carfax States that the last reported mileage was 177k in 2000(!).

It’s sounding like you should run from this truck.

It’s possible he swapped a motor in or rebuilt it in 2001 or 2 and put 150k on THAT, and that’s what he’s advertising but it’s getting fishier and fishier

I find it odd though that it says VIN NOT FOUND on motosnoop, and the VIN number is typed incorrectly.

Personally I’d ask for confirmation of the VIN or I’d walk.
